Actually, Matt Ortega has a different and better title: David Dayen 1, Carla Marinucci 0. The point is he beat me too it, even though I wanted to write about the same story, thus I link back.

See, yesterday Dave Dayen had a great post on Calitics making the point that while most of the Democratic contender had sent out statements and emails expressing their empathy for the fire victims, the Republicans had been silent. Then this morning, Carla Marinucci in the Chronicle blogged the same thing.

People write basically the same story in the blog world all the time, but if someone beats you too it you are obligated to give them credit and link back. After all, traffic is what makes the world go round. Oh and plus you want to try and add something new to the discussion different than what the original person wrote. Like this:
