Killing the Dirty Trick Again

It’s baaaaaaack. And to think we squashed this a month ago. This thing has more ties to Rudy Giuliani than you can shake a stick at. We should know in a few days where they are getting their money from, since they only get 10 days to disclose. From what we know thus far, the vast majority has come in large chunks from out of state. The consultants leading this campaign have managed to find some suckers who are most likely backing Guiliani to have a go at collecting the signatures.

The initiative would change the allocation of California’s electoral votes from the winner take all system, to Congressional districts. The end result would be the theft of about 20 electoral votes. That is the equivalent of Ohio. It is not an hyperbole to say that the fate of the 2007 election could rest on the outcome California ballot measure.

Since they are ramping up again, so are we. Courage Campaign (yes, I work for the org) launched a fundraiser today on ActBlue. We have set a goal of reaching 1,000 donors by Nov. 4, one year exactly from election day 2007. We are at 790 donors right now. Can you help me reach our goal? Hit up my personal Ruck Pad ActBlue page.

The page will expand later this year to include more of my favorite candidates. Charlie Brown will be on there for sure, and probably my old boss Chellie Pingree who is running for a House seat in Maine.

  1. Julie — This came in through a google alert and I am so glad to know what you are up to….and very glad to see that you are still fighting for all the right things. And doing a great job, I am sure. I hope all is well with you and that our paths cross again one of these days. Thanks for the mention of my campaign — what a great year to be running for office — I have never seen people so angry and ready for a change!
    Best — Chellie
